Review of Jonathon's Walk

Hello everyone,

I know it has been a long time since I have posted on this blog or any of my other blogs, for that matter, but life has been really busy for me. However, I was given the chance to post a review of episode one of Jonathon's Walk and I want to share it with you all.

Jonathon's Walk is about a young man who gets into trouble, while being around the wrong people and being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and gets 25 years in prison. What did Jonathon do so badly that he got that long in prison? It really isn't what he did do but what he didn't do that got him sent away for a long time.

You see, Jonathon was 18-years-old at the time and most likely thought he was invincible like many other young people do at that age. He was out joy-riding with the wrong people, his so-called friends one night when they came upon another car. One of the guys in the car said to Jonathon, "come on, we are taking this car." The next thing Jonathon knew was there was a gun in the other guys hand and that was the end of his life as he knew it at age 18. He got 25-years for being with the wrong people, at the wrong time, and in the wrong place and not leaving when his gut was telling him he should have. Like I said, it was what he didn't do that got him so many years in prison, which was the fact that he didn't take off and run at that time.

I can relate to this episode and the rest of the episodes we will get to watch about a man being in prison because my husband was in prison before we met. He was sent away because he robbed a musical instrument store for the drug money he needed. However, my husband said prison was the best thing that happened to him because it got him off the drugs and he met me two days after he got out. We have been together ever since and that was almost 21 years ago.

Jonathon has children and a wife that he didn't get to spend life with while he has been locked up. He missed his youngest daughter's first steps and several other first milestones of hers. Although he has also missed being with his wife all this time, she has been very patient and has stuck by him.
